Why a Newsletter?

As we enter a new era for BUnow, the editorial staff wants to offer monthly updates to all who have supported the creation and maintenance of BUnow. This year, BUnow has encountered multiple changes and difficulties. The original advisor and creator of BUnow Dr Richard Ganahl has stepped down from his position to focus on his classes and the writing of his textbooks. Professor John-Erik Koslosky has stepped into the role of BUnow’s advisor, with plans to shape a new, continuous future of the organization. Koslosky, along with the Admin team, wanted to create something that would make BUnow stand out from the rest of the Media organizations at Bloomsburg University.

BUnow was created as an online news site for university students and community members to read about what is happening on campus, once bolstering over 30 active members. Over the years, The Voice, WHSK, BUSN and NBS have created a larger online presence - pushing BUnow to create a new purpose.

This year, BUnow serves as a hub for all the media organizations. All previously named - and other - organizations can request to showcase their work on both the BUnow newsletter and website!

Additionally, the BUnow staff feels that our alumni and supporters have not been properly updated throughout the years on the success of Bloomsburg University media organizations. Our biweekly newsletters will give them an insight on what is happening in these organizations, and all stand-out projects that media students have accomplished during the semester.

BUnow hopes to foster a stronger BU media community, with collaboration and support throughout all content-creation clubs on our campus.
